Summer Serenades: The NJMH Summer Music Festival
CONCERT UNDER THE STARS: NJMH Afro-Cuban All Stars
July 31, 2011

Over 40,000 attended the Harlem Week event at Grant’s Tomb on Saturday 7/31 as the National Jazz Museum in Harlem honored flutist Dave Valentine. He played with the NJMH Latin Jazz All-Stars, which included Johnny Rodriguez, Edy Martinez, and special guest trumpeter Jerry Gonzalez.

NJMH Director Loren Schoenberg presented Dave with a plaque expressing the museum’s respect for his life in music.

The music that followed, was, as one would expect, nothing short of magnificent.
