Jazz, House Music and the Underground Dance Revolution

This event is presented on the Museum FACEBOOK and YOUTUBE page.

When the electronic dance music known as “house” emerged in the early 1980s, many DJ’s and producers were looking to earlier dance music styles for inspiration and jazz became a common foundation that these innovators built upon. For this Jazz &… Dance program ,we will be talking with DJ Ali Coleman, dance, house and jazz vocalist Sheila Ford, and other special guests discussing the intersections between jazz and the dance music world of house.
