NEW SOUNDS: The Music of IJT featuring The Isaiah J. Thompson Quintet

Pianist Isaiah Thompson is one of a handful of young musicians on the scene today that can fully embrace the past while at the same time push his music into the future with clarity and vision.  At only 19 years old, the New Jersey native and current Juilliard student has already toured Europe with the New Legacy Quartet, completed a Peruvian jazz cultural exchange program with Jazz House Kids, won several awards at the Essentially Ellington and Charles Mingus competitions, was a jazz piano winner for the National YoungArts Foundation, and was featured in Jazz at Lincoln Centers 2016 season-opening concert with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.

At his National Jazz Museum in Harlem premiere, Thompson will be presenting an evening of music of original compositions
