Dayna Stephens Group featuring Patrick Bartley, Jr.

Since the release of his 2007 disc, The Timeless Now (CTA), Dayna Stephens has emerged as one of his generation’s most distinguished modern jazz tenor saxophonists and composers. He hones a sinewy yet supple tone that unfurls poised improvisations that maximize melodic ingenuity. GRAMMY Award-nominated saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Patrick Bartley, Jr. has appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and featured in the Emmy-nominated HBO special Wynton Marsalis: A YoungArts Masterclass. This edition of the Mentorship Series will present mentor Dayna Stephens and mentee Patrick Bartley Jr. together on saxophone in Harlem as the program’s culminating residency of performances.
