Trading Twelves: The Ralph Ellison-Albert Murray Continuum

Continuing this month’s celebration of the centenary of Ralph Ellison’s birth, long-time NJMH contributor Greg Thomas hosts a discussion, “The Ralph Ellison-Albert Murray Continuum,” centering on the cultural, intellectual and personal ties between Ellison and his friend and fellow writer Albert Murray. The conversation features Columbia University professor Ross Posnock, author of Color and Culture: Black Writers and the Making of the Modern Intellectual and editor of The Cambridge Companion to Ralph Ellison; Cliff Thompson, author of the novel Signifying Nothing and winner of the Whiting Writers Award for Nonfiction in 2013 for Love for Sale and Other Essays; and Paul Devlin, co-author with Albert Murray of Rifftide: The Life and Opinions of Papa Jo Jones.
