The National Jazz Museum in Harlem logo, created by David Prittie

In Memoriam: David Prittie 1954-2018

July 12, 2018

The National Jazz Museum in Harlem would like to honor David Prittie, who recently passed unexpectedly. David was the graphic designer of our museum logo. His design was originally created for our membership program, but evolved to being the logo we use today. From 1994 through 2012, David was the Senior Digital Imaging Artist for The Madison Group, a division of Young & Rubicam. He was a Founding Board Member and the Senior Graphic Designer for The Flea, an Off-Off-Broadway theater in Lower Manhattan. He has conceived and designed the posters for more than seventy productions at The Flea, including fifty-five world premieres.  In addition to graphics and digital imaging, he worked professionally as an actor, director, scenic artist, set and lighting designer, photographer, cinematographer and film and sound editor.

We express our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this time.
