Music on the Brain w/ Helen Sung and Najja J Marshall
Music on the Brain brings together jazz music and science as we celebrate the way that music affects our brains and bodies. Each month we explore a different topic with a guest scientist from Columbia University, combined with music from New York based and inaugural Zuckerman Institute Jazz Artist-in-Residence pianist Helen Sung. Join us to listen and move with the music, and maybe learn something new! This months neuroscientist is Ph.D. candidate Najja J Marshall. Najja studies muscle activity patterns and motor unit recruitment. and is the recipient of a National Science Foundation Fellowship.
Music on the Brain is a collaboration between the National Jazz Museum in Harlem and Columbia University’s Zuckerman Institute.
